This festival
is held annually in the Mona district from the 19th to the 21st
of February. During the festival period, people make piles of around 90 Taros (a potato with thick hairy skin, sometimes called albi) to use as an offering to dedicate to the gods. Participants make prayers for healthy crops and excellent health throughout the year during this festival. Even nationally, the ceremonies involved in this festival are unique.

This large cave was formed naturally from coastal erosion. Through tectonic movements, the current height above the ground is around 25 meters. There is a shrine
inside the cave dedicated to the sea god, which is frequented by local fishermen.

Like Natagiri Cave, this cave is located 25 meters above the ground, and was formed naturally through coastal erosion.
This cave was used as a tomb around the end of the Jomon era (4000 years ago) and also 1500 years ago (Tumulus era).
More than 12 dugout wooden boats from the Tumulus era have been discovered in this cave. It appears that these boats were used as coffins.

Castle Park is one of the city¡Çs most important attractions. The site of the current castle was the final stronghold of the 9th and 10th generations of the Satomi clan of feudal lords who ruled the southern Chiba area (Awa) from here around 400 years ago. The city rebuilt the location into Castle Park (Shiroyama Koen). Located in the park is the restored castle that contains a branch museum, several walking paths, a peacock aviary, and the main city museum.
There is a wonderful view of Tateyama bay and the surrounding areas from the top of the park.
In the park grounds there are many flowering trees such as camellia, Japanese plum, and cherry blossom trees.
Azaleas, Camellias and other flowers add a pleasant accent to the many walking paths as they blossom in turn throughout the seasons. The current castle has been reconstructed on the top of the 66m high Castle Park.
The view of Mt Fuji from Castle Park has been designated officially as "One of the Kanto Regions Best 100 Views of Mount Fuji".
